5 Things You’re Doing that Can Trigger Headaches

Headaches are not life threatening, but they should not be taken lightly. Regular headaches are signs that your body is not functioning correctly and that you need to rectify your lifestyle and routine to make things better. One of the common causes of headaches is low blood sugar, dehydration, tension, migraine and at times eye strain. However, there are other things that you might be doing wrong that would trigger headaches.

Insufficient Water Intake

Dehydration is one of the main causes of headaches and therefore it is important that you drink enough water. Many might argue that they still suffer from headaches, but that is because the body requires a certain amount of water to keep the body functioning. It is therefore recommended that you drink water regularly and after every few hours. Even if you are working in the office you need to take a trip to the office water dispenser and supply your body with plenty of water to make things better.

Stressing Out

Are you always stressed out about how you can juggle multiple commitments? If you are always paranoid and stressed out with how you will be able to balance your personal and professional life or any other issues you might be having headaches that can make your situation worse. Stress can often lead to poor diet patterns and routine, lack of sleep and anxiety which can trigger headaches because your mind is unable to relax and calm down. Do meditation or listen to music or just take some time out and go for a vacation where you can take a break and you will see your headaches disappear without a pill.

Straining Your Eyes

Are you watching too much of television? Do you work too much in front of your computer screens? Eyes need some amount of rest after you work for hours. Straining your eyes for long hours can lead to unwanted headaches and therefore it is recommended that you take a water break every hour for few minutes that would allow your eyes to relax and few moments for your mind to calm down. At times, sitting for long hours in front of your computer can lead to poor posture issues and that can also trigger headaches.

Poor Sleep Routine

Sleep

After a tiresome day at work, your body and mind require some rest in order to get ready for the challenges of the next day. If you don’t have a proper sleep routine you might suffer from headaches because the mind hasn’t received the kind of relaxation it requires. Hence, make sure that you have a good night sleep where your body and mind can repair itself and keep you fit to tackle situations for the following day.

Improper Diet

Keeping the blood sugar level balanced is a great way to keep headaches away, but improper diet can lead to low blood sugar levels and that can bring back your headache issues. It is an indicator that your body needs some sugar level and you can eat healthy food to balance the level. Eating foods rich in magnesium, riboflavin and protein can ensure that your headache is gone.
